For a year, I worked on radio stories for NPR member station KOSU. I've also worked on an NPR project called "Next Generation Radio."


NEWS - I won an Associated Press award for a story I wrote, produced, and narrated for an NPR program about Monarch Butterfly conservation. It was selected as the best radio feature in Arkansas and Oklahoma. The judges stated that it was chosen for the use of natural sound. I am very grateful for this honor. Stephanie Henson admires her colorful backyard garden in Edmond. Approaching a pink-and-white plant, she squeals and laughs and she spots some butterflies.

“Oh look, they’re itty-bitty,” she says. “Look at ’em!”

Recent studies suggest the Monarch butterfly's population has decreased by more than 90 percent and could be extinct in 20 years.
